diz iz it!!!! CC pinas invasion!!!! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!
all of this craziness started way back in april when a week before mami anne's baby shower for our dear baby louise, she texted us that she has a surprise for those who'll attend the baby shower on april 20.. shempre, i made it a point that i'll be there! hahaha.. so the 20th of april came and mami anne announced that chun will be arriving on the 26th.. so super mega scream kami ng mga girls! but, we were not allowed to tell anyone pa kase they were still under nego ata nung time na un.. pero shempre, we were so excited pa din kase chun na un eh! kaso april 26 came and no chun came.. hahaha.. after almost 2 months, eto may news again.. it was that someone posted in fahrenciti that chun will be here in pinas on july 12-14.. at that time i didn't know who he will be with and i wasn't minding the news that much kase there were no announcements from ABS naman eh.. tapos after a few days ata, chun posted the sked in his blog with the tagalog phrase "OO, Andito na ako!!!".. so shempre, it was like a confirmation already kaya kmi super excited na naman.. haha. kung ano ano ng pang gagahasa kay chun ang napagplanuhan namen.. hahaha.. eniwei, a week before they arrived, mami anne told us that an insider gave us passes for ent live and the buzz, 20 each for both shows.. so mega prepare kami ng gifts and fixed our skeds pra sure na walang sasagabal pag andito na sila.. we've decided to make 2 scrapbooks of different tourist spots in the philippines for both of them.. shempre para naman if they saw how beautiful our country is through the scrapbook, baka maisipan nila na bumalik and stay longer for a vacation diba.. hehehe.. nung june 28 din pala, we met with the frhfam in luneta to take lotsa pictures for the photo mossaic that they planned to give to chun and calvin.. grabe, andaming nagpunta.. 41 daw ang umattend.. hahaha.. andaming adiks diba! so un na nga, we started making the scrapbook after watching pops in seoul in manila film center nung july 5.. ung mga goongnianz went to MOA after the show and stayed till 10pm there kakagawa ng scrapbook.. we met again the next day sa trinoma to do it again and stayed till mga 9:30 din.. hehehe.. grabe ngarag ever talaga kami! we have to finish two scrapbooks kase in a week, eh napakahirap kaya nun! wala pa nmn kaming ka-art-art sa katawan! hehehe.. we met again nung wednesday sa haus nila mami ces para gumawa ulit and para kunin ung tarp.. grabe, past 10 na din kmi nakaalis nun.. super ngarag talaga!! and di pa din tapos ung scrapbooks nun.. so we met for the last time nung friday sa mega to finalize everything, the scrapbooks and we bought 2 shirts for them, bumili ng boxes at kung anik anik pa.. si ate peachy na nag uwi at gumawa pa ng kung anek anek dun sa scrapbook.. haha.. kase di na din talaga kaya ng powers nmen tska di din nmn ako makakapunta ng saturday.. ang mahirap pa dito, a few days before dumating sila chun, we received a message that our slots were reduced from 20 to 5 na lang, and wala na sa the buzz.. so super disappointed talaga kmi, lalo na ako and ate jan kase super daming hirap talaga namen dun sa gifts and all.. and to think na ung the buzz lang talaga inaasahan ko, nawala pa.. buti na lang nakita ko pa din ung dalawa, sulit ung pagod ko talaga.. so aun nga, saturday came, ung mga adiks nagmeet sa qc ng 10am for the registration and other chuvaness.. super nag enjoy din sila kase nakita nla ung dalawa sa "fanmeet-kuno" tska sa e-live.. tpos ako super di din mapakali dun sa wedding ng tropa ko.. wahaha.. so around 8:30pm, mejo pakonti na tao sa reception dun sa wedding, nagpaalam nko kina friendship sabi ko punta pako ortigas to find my one true love.. hahaha.. i arrived at around 11 ata sa ortigas and ala pa 5mins, biglang dumating na sina chunney!!!! ang saya saya! andaming tao.. di agad sila pinababa kase baka pagkaguluhan nga sila.. kami ni ate jan nagpaplano ng umakyat ng hotel tpos pasok sa crowne plaza para makita pa sila pag dumaan sila, kaso nung papunta na kami, bglang napatigil kami dun sa kabilang side ng van and calvin smiled and waved at us!!!! waaaaaaaaah!!! grabe na talaga! mega pic din kami nung side ng van na un kahit tinted window lang nakukuhaan!! wahahahaha!! nung malapit na sila pababain kase lalo daw dadami tao pag di pa sila bumaba, lumipat na uli kami dun sa kabilang side to take more pics.. kaloka!! si ikay super mega close talaga!! ung mukha ni chun sa pic, halos sakop ung kalahati ng pic!! wahahahaha.. ang saya saya!! napa tell me tellllllllll meeeee na lang kmi habang nagtatatalon pabalik ng holiday inn.. hahaha.. sin ate mm naman, sumunod pa dun sa may elevator.. tinignan where the lift will stop, sa 12th floor daw.. haha.. nagpunta din sila don kaso paglabas ng elevator puro armadong kalalakihan sumalubong sa kanya.. wahahahaha.. kaya balik na lang sila sa room nmen.. haaay.. kabaliw talaga mga mokong na to.. after nun we bought food sa 7-11 sa baba, talked to the max, scared the other ladies pretending that we were staff of the hotel, talked to the max ulit hanggang around 2:30am.. they even tried calling the boys' room kaso super mega tagal magconnect.. haha.. kaya itinulog nlng nmen.. grabe kaba ko nun!! hehe.. around 3:30 nagising ako, super lamig sa room! blanket-slash-kumot-slash-banig ba naman ung gamit namen.. grabe.. hanggang 4:30 gising na gising pa din ako! balak ko ng maligo nun kaso super aga pa.. haha.. natulog ulit ako ng mga 1hr, tpos nung bumangon na si ate kathy, tska ko naligo.. haaaaay.. thinking of a long day ahead of us, super kulang talaga ung tulog ko.. around 8, nagbreakfast kmi ni ate jan sa mcdo.. around 10, nag check out na kmi and stayed sa lobby ng crowne waiting for the boys.. around 11:00, lumabas kami to smoke.. mga 11:30 dumating na ung van na sasakyan nila chun.. si super nice manong driver lumapit samen para makisindi.. haha..at aun, mega chika na din! he told that us na sa redcrab kumain ung dalawa the night before, that chun wanted to go to luneta, that the boys are super nice daw, mas nice sa f4.. he said din that chun knows libis and that they're planning to go to the fort or to libis or sa serendra after ng mga shows nung sunday.. kulang n nga lang hingin namen ung fone no. ni manong pra itext nalang nmen sha kung asan ba ang mga boys.. hahaha.. sabi din nya mga 12 pa daw papababain ung dalawa.. so we waited.. and waited.. and waited.. a few minutes before 1pm, bumaba n nga ung dalawa.. a few of us were so lucky (winks at betsy, FYFM moment (my mistake, indi pala FMFY! hahaha)) kase they were able to give chun the mossaic.. hehehe.. ako naman todo kuha lang ng pix at kaway here and there.. hahaha.. chun even waved at me!! grabe! heaven!!!! konti lang kase ung nasa labas nung time na un coz i think a lot were hoping that when they go downstairs, magkakaron ng photo op with the fans inside the hotel, kaya kmi we opted to stay outside na lang where we think na mejo magtatagal sila pag paakyat na ng van.. hehehehe.. and indi nga kami nagkamali!! hehehe.. anyway, right after they left for ASAP, kami naman ang mega kaway sa mga taxi pra makasunod.. pagkasakay ng taxi, tska nag iritan ang mga bruha! i was with ate jan, betsy and ikay sa cab.. and super kilig kaming lahat!!! esp betsy!! hahahaha! sabi ko nga, after nya maiabot ung gift, tulala ever sha na parang nagttwinkle ung eyes.. parang anime na inlove.. wahahaha.. tapos biglang nagsigawan na nung nasa taxi.. buti nga di kami pinababa ni manong driver eh.. hahahaha.. may ulan factor pa yan before kami nakasakay ah.. at pagdating din ng abs-cbn, mejo malakas na din ung ulan.. hehehe.. pagdating dun, aun, hanapan n ng mga kasama for the buzz naman and studio tours ng officers.. mejo nagkaprob pa nga kase kinulang ng slot pero thank God, naayos din.. kaya around 2:30 or 3pm nakapasok km ng set ng the buzz at mega wait nlng sa mga hot papas.. first, gretchen was interviewed.. tpos si ruffa gumawa ng intro nya nung mga boys.. kaasar nga ung isang feelingerang bakla don.. tnturuan n nga namen ni ate jan na they should call chun as chun not wu eh sabi gngulo pa daw nmen si ruffa! adik talaga! kya in the middle of the interview sila pa tuloy ung knorek! tsk tsk! so after a few celebs and gossips here and there, dumating na ang oras ng pagdating ng mga hot papas!! dun sa red carpet sa may tabi namin sila dumaan.. mejo madami na talaga ung tao, buti di sila kinuyog.. at buti napigilan ko sarili kong tumalon at sunggaban sila.. wahahahhaa.. dun sa first part ng interview, ang naaalala ko na lang eh ung pagkanta nila na mejo nafeel ata ni chun ung pagka-mini concert ng dating kase todo sing-along kmi! hahahaha.. kaya napatayo sha at itinapat talaga ung mic sa side nmen.. katuwa nga sila kase talagang tingin sila ng tingin sa side nmen.. hehehehehe.. tpos nung break, grabe.. mga pasaway na staff.. kami daw ang pilit na gusto magpa-pic! eh sila tong nagsisugudan dun sa gitna!! tsk tsk!!! sarap hambalusin isa isa!! hahahaha.. eniwei, after the break, 2nd part na ng interview.. aun.. wala lang panoorin nyo na lang sa youtube.. hahahaha.. bsta ang saya!! after mismo ng interview nila, umalis na din kmi.. si ate jan ata ung nakarinig na may nagsabi na 'ang mga hitad un lang pala panonoorin!' adik lang eh! what did they expect? papanoorin pa nmen ung ibang artists?? eh sina chun nga habol namen don! tsk tsk.. so after nga, lumabas na kami and went to starbucks para magpahinga at kumain.. while the officers went to the meet and greet kung san di din nmn sila pinapasok.. hahahaha.. kase quarter to 6 na ata sila nakapunta dun, eh hanggang 6 lang daw un.. wahahaha. kamusta nmn un diba.. hehehe.. so dun na nag eend encounter nmen ng mga future asawa ko.. hahaha.. hanggang da buzz. after kase nun, super duper pagod na kami.. kaya nagsiuwian na.. pero siguro kung alam nmen na nagpunta pa sila ng luneta, baywalk at ccp complex, baka sumunod din kami.. hahahahaha.. sobrang kaadikan na talaga to.. kahit siguro sa serendra sinundan nmen sila, kahit di nmn kami kakain.. hahaha.. maka-stalk lang talaga.. haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.. grabe ang experience na to!!! wala na ko masabi!!!! im willing to do everything ulit para lang sa kanila pag bumalik sila dito.. kylngan ng magipon ipon para sa concert nila.. para sa pagbabalik ni chun sa october.. malamang ganto n nmn mangyayari nun.. kylngan na mag isip ulit ng gift.. wahahahahahha.. todo na to!!!! o sha!!! baboosh!! sana wala akong nakalimutan!! wahahahahaha!!! bangag pa ko!!!

FRHFam and Goongnianz's gifts to Chun and Calvin
grabe ang effort ng goongnianz sa gift para kna chun ah! wish ko lang maappreciate nila yan.. hehehehe.. :) 1 week kaming puyat, isang araw umabsent ako pra dto, nag undertime para makagawa kagad sa bahay.. haaaaaaay.. mejo sulit na ung pagod kase talagang nakita nmen sila upclose.. pero sana nareceive nga nila at nagustuhan mga yan.. hehehe.. :)

Chun and Calvin in The Buzz - 071308
grabe! this is the bestest (wahaha! imbentong term!) of all the best experience of my life! i met lots of new and great friends.. i saw chun and calvin not just once, but thrice! waaaaaaaah!!! dito sa the buzz, the feeling's a lot different with what i felt in the hotel.. mas matagal sila sa paningin ko dto eh! hahaha.. kaasar lang coz the staff of abs-cbn told us a lot of times na wag llapit at wag magpasaway when sila naman tong todo papicture with the guys at talagang lumalapit dun sa set.. eh ni hindi pa nga tapos ung da buzz super nagkakagulo na sa studio.. hahaha.. adik lang eh.. kami daw ang pasaway! tsk tsk.. you can see naman in the pics na puro sila ung nagka-photo op with chun and calvin eh.. ung fans wala.. walang chance talaga.. masayang part lang dito was calvin and chun always looked on our side, waved and smiled and even recognized the shirts that we wore.. super bait nila! when they sang xin wo, nagulat din siguro sila na madaming nakisabay on our side kaya si chun napatayo talaga at mega move ng mic para makakanta talaga kmi.. hahaha.. feeling concert itey!!! grabe, sana lang mas mahabang time pa ung inispend nila dto sa pinas.. kulang ung 3 days.. haaaay.. sensha na lang pala kung mejo blurred ung ibang pics.. hahaha.. ngarag ever ako sa pagppic kase super excited ako at andun na sila chun sa harap eh.. basta pindot na lang ako sa cam para makarami ng pics.. kaya ung ibang pics talgang kuhang kuha ung mga galaw nila.. hehehe.. dito din pala sa interview nila sa da buzz, minention dat 80% of chun's staff in his fitness zone ay mga pinoy.. and he even said in an interview that he goes here a lot of times before to hire staff for his gym.. hehehe.. galing diba! he even went to fitness first in libis.. kaya pala nagyayaya maglibis ang loko nung saturday night sabi ni super nice na manong driver.. hehehehe.. haaaaay.. sana balik sila agad!!! kakamiss!!!! sulit na sulit talaga ung pagod namin last week after seeing these two.. ang sarap ng feeling.. parang ngaun nsa cloud 9 pa din ako!!! hahaha.. eto pa pala, bago ko makapasok sa da buzz, nagka prob pa! buti na lang nalusutan! hahaha.. kulang kami ng isang slot.. pero nakapasok ako! wahahaha!! galing galing talga ng mga frendships ko!! naisingit ako sa mga taiwanese fans na kasama namen! hehehehe.. osha yan na muna! saka na ko gawa ng talaga complete fan account ko! at super lutang pa din utak ko! napapanaginipan ko pa din sila!! grabe! sweet kung sweet dreams talaga! hehehe!
Chun and Calvin's Departure for ASAP - 07/13/08
kaloka ah! antagal ng waiting time! we checked out around 10 am tpos around 1pm pa sila lumabas ng rum nila! wahahah.. tpos kmi ni ate jan were outside the hotel around 11:30am hoping that we'll have greater opportunity to be close to them when they leave for asap there.. hahaha.. naging friends pa kmi ni manong driver who passed some info to us about the two.. chun even asked daw if they could go to luneta nung saturday night.. they ate in red crab after the pda appearance.. tpos they were supposed to daw in the fort or libis last night.. serendra yata? wahahha.. kulang na nga lang eh hingin nmen no. ni kuya.. wahahahaha.. grabe ang moment na to.. he was so close to us.. betsy was able to really hand-in to him the mossaic.. he even asked her, "for me?" and betsy said "for you".. with eye-to-eye contact pa yan ha.. wahahahahaha.. grabe.. ang fmfy moment! so happy for her talaga!!! tpos wen chun was in the van already, lumapit ako sa van while taking pics.. i waved at him then he waved back at me!!! waaaaaaaaah!! as in! super smile pa!! waaaaaaaaaaah!! ang saya saya ko!!!!! parang super sulit na ung pagod for the whole week!!!! kaloka!!!!

Our current airing of Romantic Princess may be approaching the final two weeks but Janna and Jin's love story continues to captivate the hearts of very many Filipino fans.
Q: Were you aware of how popular you are here in our country before you came over?
Calvin: Not really, 'cause it's our first time to work in the Philippines. And when we arrived at the airport we were quite worried about like how many people are waiting for us.
Chun: Actually last time when he had activities, like outside the Philippines, right?, sometimes there are fans from the Philippines who would write letters to us and they say "Hey, come to the Philippines, you have a lot of fans here!" but...
Calvin: We're not sure how many.
Chun: Yeah that's right. But we are really happy that a lot of people out here are supporting our drama. And we have to thank ABS-CBN and GTV for this opportunity.
Q: How much do you know about our country? And especially our local TV before you came over?
Chun: I know a lot. Because actually I rather have ... in Brunei, almost 80% of my staff are from the Philippines. And I know ABS-CBN from I think 15 years ago. And I know a lot about the Philippines, yeah. (points to Calvin) He's also been to the Philiippines before, right?
Calvin: I came here right like 10 years ago with my family on a family trip. 'Cause I know there are so many places in the Philippines... it's a good place for resorts and going on a trip.
Chun: Many islands in the Philippines. A lot.
Calvin: Yeah, yeah. One of my friends just came from the Philippines last week.
Chun: Yeah.
Calvin: So... and I remember in my memory when I was a kid that the seafood here was pretty nice. And yummy.
Chun: And there's one more thing. I ate mango ice cream when I was like 6 years old, I think. Because there are a lot of Filipinos in Brunei and I got the chance to eat the ice cream.
Q: You said a while ago, Mr. Calvin, that you've been here 10 years ago and you enjoyed the good seafood we have here. How about the girls?
Calvin: The girls? (laughs) I was only like 10 years old!
Q: You were 10 years old then?
Calvin: Like 10 or 12 years old. I came here like more than 10 years ago!
Chun: More like 15 years ago! (laughs)
Calvin: Yeah, that was 15 years ago. (more laughing)
Q: Now that you're here, what are parts of the promo tour? Are you doing concerts? I believe that you both sing...
Calvin: Yeah...
Chun: You mean this trip or...
Calvin: Yeah.
Chun: In this trip we are here to promote our drama only - Romantic Princess, yeah.
Calvin: But we will sing a little, right?
Chun: Yeah, during the program...
Calvin: One song...
Chun: ... we will sing our song.
Q: Why do you speak English fluently? Because it says here that you grew up in Brunei and studied in Australia...
Chun: Yeah, that's right. Because in Brunei we go to English school as well. And when I was studying in Melbourne, all the time we speak English. In Brunei as well because almost 80% of my staff are from the Philippines and we speak in English everyday.
Q: So you practically grew up in Brunei.
Chun: Yup.
Q: Why? Is your family...
Chun: I think my grandfather migrated to Brunei I think 100 years ago (laughs). And then my father was born in Brunei and I was born in Brunei. So that's why...
Q: Would you mind working with Filipino actors? because we are coming up I think with a drama show, a collaboration with other country's superstar with a Filipino heartthrob. Are you willing to work with Filipino actors here?
Chun: If it's a good opportunity, if we have this kind of opportunity...
Q: Do you know some of the stars here? Are you familiar with some names of female superstars in the Philippines?
(much laughing from Calvin and Chun)
Q: Actresses... female actresses. Of course actresses...
Chun: We will meet some tomorrow. A few years ago, I know some. A few years ago. Because a few years ago, I came here and then I got some friends here and then we went to a health club. And then we met a very famous artist here and then my friend introduced me to her.
Q. Who is she?
Chun: I forgot the name already. (much laughing)
Calvin: What did she look like? Is she singer or actress?
Chun: Actress. At Fitness First.
Calvin: Fitness First.
Q: Yesterday you met Toni and Bianca.
Chun: Oh yeah, today.
Q: How did you find them?
Chun: Very nice. (nods head)
Calvin: Yeah. (nods head)
Chun: Very friendly.
Calvin: And pretty.
Chun: Pretty of course.
Q: Do you have girlfriends back in Taiwan?
(Calvin and Chun shake their heads)
Q: One last question. Really?
(Calvin and Chun shake their heads some more)
Chun: No time. Really, no time. Our company will say (Calvin says same thing), you can have a girlfriend, we don't mind. But you know, the way they arrange our schedule, it's like there's no chance to have a girlfriend at all.
Calvin: No time to date.
Chun: Yeah.
Q: Did you audition also? Like you're from Fahrenheit... before you became individual actors in different series?
Calvin: Back to the time, our company didn't have the plan to form a group, a boyband called Fahrenheit. We didn't have the plan. We just came one by one to have audition to be an actor at the time to shoot in a drama. And later when all four of us came into the company, our boss he thought, these four guys are quite interesting. SO he thought that we can form a group called Fahrenheit. The reason we're called Fahrenheit is because he thinks that all of us, four of us, are different styles, different...
Chun: ... personalities. And Fahrenheit's like everyone got their own degree, like some are very hot, some are very cold, some are cool... So it's based on the Fahrenheit temperature.
Q: Between the two of you, who is the more popular in Taiwan? And in other Chinese-speaking areas in Southeast Asia? Who gets the more, who gets the bigger number of fan letters or emails or whatever? Between the two of you. Calvin or Wu?
Chun: Each of us have different target...
Calvin: Target different...
Chun: Like maybe he's into different kinds of supporters. And then mine is different too.
Calvin: I think the good thing to form our group is that we attract different groups, different age groups, different target, so that's why that makes Fahrenheit big. To be... (laughs and smiles)
Q: Are you friends in real life?
Chun: Friends?
Calvin: In real life? Of course! We do hang out to have dinner or watch movies.
Chun: You mean both of us? Of course, of course!
Q: When did you know each other?
Calvin: When?
Chun: When I joined. I think first he joined the company, then after like maybe a few months I joined.
Calvin: I was the third. You (pointing to Chun) were the last one.
Chun: Then that's the time we met. During these three years, we worked together, we knew each other, like we understand each other very much and then the relationship got better and better.

Q: Now that you're here, what are parts of the promo tour? Are you doing concerts? I believe that you both sing...
Calvin: Yeah...
Chun: You mean this trip or...
Calvin: Yeah.
Chun: In this trip we are here to promote our drama only - Romantic Princess, yeah.
Calvin: But we will sing a little, right?
Chun: Yeah, during the program...
Calvin: One song...
Chun: ... we will sing our song.
Q: Why do you speak English fluently? Because it says here that you grew up in Brunei and studied in Australia...
Chun: Yeah, that's right. Because in Brunei we go to English school as well. And when I was studying in Melbourne, all the time we speak English. In Brunei as well because almost 80% of my staff are from the Philippines and we speak in English everyday.
Q: So you practically grew up in Brunei.
Chun: Yup.
Q: Why? Is your family...
Chun: I think my grandfather migrated to Brunei I think 100 years ago (laughs). And then my father was born in Brunei and I was born in Brunei. So that's why...
Q: Would you mind working with Filipino actors? because we are coming up I think with a drama show, a collaboration with other country's superstar with a Filipino heartthrob. Are you willing to work with Filipino actors here?
Chun: If it's a good opportunity, if we have this kind of opportunity...
Q: Do you know some of the stars here? Are you familiar with some names of female superstars in the Philippines?
(much laughing from Calvin and Chun)
Q: Actresses... female actresses. Of course actresses...
Chun: We will meet some tomorrow. A few years ago, I know some. A few years ago. Because a few years ago, I came here and then I got some friends here and then we went to a health club. And then we met a very famous artist here and then my friend introduced me to her.
Q. Who is she?
Chun: I forgot the name already. (much laughing)
Calvin: What did she look like? Is she singer or actress?
Chun: Actress. At Fitness First.
Calvin: Fitness First.
Q: Yesterday you met Toni and Bianca.
Chun: Oh yeah, today.
Q: How did you find them?
Chun: Very nice. (nods head)
Calvin: Yeah. (nods head)
Chun: Very friendly.
Calvin: And pretty.
Chun: Pretty of course.
Q: Do you have girlfriends back in Taiwan?
(Calvin and Chun shake their heads)
Q: One last question. Really?
(Calvin and Chun shake their heads some more)
Chun: No time. Really, no time. Our company will say (Calvin says same thing), you can have a girlfriend, we don't mind. But you know, the way they arrange our schedule, it's like there's no chance to have a girlfriend at all.
Calvin: No time to date.
Chun: Yeah.
Q: Did you audition also? Like you're from Fahrenheit... before you became individual actors in different series?
Calvin: Back to the time, our company didn't have the plan to form a group, a boyband called Fahrenheit. We didn't have the plan. We just came one by one to have audition to be an actor at the time to shoot in a drama. And later when all four of us came into the company, our boss he thought, these four guys are quite interesting. SO he thought that we can form a group called Fahrenheit. The reason we're called Fahrenheit is because he thinks that all of us, four of us, are different styles, different...
Chun: ... personalities. And Fahrenheit's like everyone got their own degree, like some are very hot, some are very cold, some are cool... So it's based on the Fahrenheit temperature.
Q: Between the two of you, who is the more popular in Taiwan? And in other Chinese-speaking areas in Southeast Asia? Who gets the more, who gets the bigger number of fan letters or emails or whatever? Between the two of you. Calvin or Wu?
Chun: Each of us have different target...
Calvin: Target different...
Chun: Like maybe he's into different kinds of supporters. And then mine is different too.
Calvin: I think the good thing to form our group is that we attract different groups, different age groups, different target, so that's why that makes Fahrenheit big. To be... (laughs and smiles)
Q: Are you friends in real life?
Chun: Friends?
Calvin: In real life? Of course! We do hang out to have dinner or watch movies.
Chun: You mean both of us? Of course, of course!
Q: When did you know each other?
Calvin: When?
Chun: When I joined. I think first he joined the company, then after like maybe a few months I joined.
Calvin: I was the third. You (pointing to Chun) were the last one.
Chun: Then that's the time we met. During these three years, we worked together, we knew each other, like we understand each other very much and then the relationship got better and better.

Fresh from Taiwan, Asian superstars Wu Chun and Calvin Chen immediately attended their series of guestings here in the Philippines. Their first stop was "Entertainment Live!" where lots of Pinoy fans welcomed the dashing stars of the hit Taiwanese soap "Romantic Princess", which is currently airing on ABS-CBN.
Soon after that, they went to a strictly by-invitation press conference where the local media got to know them better.
Among all the Asian heartthrobs who came here in the past, Chun and Calvin were the ones who are most well-informed about Philippines. Indeed, they revealed that this is not their first visit in the country.
“I know a lot. Because I run a health club in Brunei and almost 80% of my staff are from the Philippines. That's why I come here every now and then to interview (applicants). And I (have tried) mango ice cream and yema ice cream when I was like 6-years-old. Because there are a lot of Filipinos in Brunei, I get to eat the ice-cream,” said Chun, who was born and raised in Brunei.
Calvin on the other hand was able to visit Philippines once for vacation. “I came here like 10 years ago with my family because I know there are so many places in the Philippines which are good for resorts and trips. One of my friends also came here just last week. And I remember when I was a kid the seafood here was pretty nice and very yummy!” he exclaimed.
When asked if they knew that they are very popular among the Filipinos, Calvin replied that they didn’t. In fact, they were quite worried that only a selected few would be waiting for their arrival.
Chun further explained, “When we have activities in other countries, sometimes there are fans from the Philippines who write letters for us and say, ‘Hey, come to the Philippines! You have a lot of fans here.’ But we were not sure how many. And now that we’re here, were really happy to see that a lot of people are really supporting our drama. And we thank ABS-CBN and GTN for this opportunity.”
To top it all, they also expressed their desire to work with Filipino actresses when given the chance. As for now though, they have a tight schedule due to their upcoming Asian tour with two of the other members of their boy band known as Fahrenheit.
Fahrenheit vs. F4
Since the mention of their group popped up, the press prodded them about being compared to F4 of the hit Taiwanese series MeteorGarden. Both Chun and Calvin refused to say who’s more popular between the two groups these days.
Chun even claimed that F4 is “still big in Taiwan” and that both F4 and Fahrenheit have their fair share of supporters. As for being at par with F4, Chun’s opinion on the subject merely emphasized his down-to-earth personality.
"I think we still have a lot of things to learn. We are just new. We’ve been in showbiz for just three years. And I think F4 has been in this business for seven years or so. (And besides), we can’t judge this by ourselves. But what's important is that in all our dramas and record albums, we do our very best and hope that we get good results.”
Sing or act?
Like most actor-singers, Chen and Calvin enjoy the best of both worlds. But their sense of fulfillment doesn’t only stem from being able to do what they love to do but also from the priceless experience of meeting their avid fans.
“I remember one day I talked to Chun and the other members of Fahrenheit and said, ‘Isn’t it weird that we have shook so many hands’. Like how many people can get this experience in their whole life. To be in this business is really a special experience for me. There is so much love from the fans wherever we go,” Calvin gushed.
As for Chun’s part, “We love both. When we're singing on stage, we’re face to face with our audience, to all the fans. And you can get their support and love in a straight and direct way. And when we are being actors, the audience, they start to love you as the character you are acting. So I think (sense of fulfillment) is quite different.”
The Real Us
In "Romantic Princess", Calvin is a happy-go-lucky flirt who never had a serious relationship while Chun is cast as the responsible type. Hence, Calvin quickly set the record straight about his personality off-cam.
“I have to say that I’m not a playboy in real life. I’m outgoing in real life but I’m not a playboy. I don’t fool around between girls. And when I found my true love I will be really serious,” he stressed.
Chun on the other hand revealed that he shared lots of similarities with his character in the story. “In the drama, Jin worked very hard for his career and he's willing to leave his family and go on his own. And this kind of direction is what I’m doing right now.”
Still single
With their drop-dead gorgeous looks, charming smile, and well-built frame, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Chun and Calvin are taken. But it seems that even in their late 20’s, it would be a long time before they get themselves a steady girlfriend.
“No time to date. Our company would say, ‘You can have a girlfriend, we don’t mind.’ But you know, with our (hectic schedule), there's no time for us to have a girlfriend at all,” Chun laughingly shared.

His princely looks have won him quite a following, first in the chinovela Hana Kimi The Original and now Romantic Princess, both aired on ABS-CBN. In the latter, Wu Chun plays one of the four successors to the owner-manager of a business empire whose granddaughter, played by Angela Zhang, falls head-over-heels for Wu Chun.
Beyond that, not much is known about Wu Chun.
Here’s what Conversations dug up about Wu Chun:
His real name is Goh Kiat Chun, of Chinese descent, born on Oct. 10, 1979 (a Libran), in Brunei, the youngest of three (one sister and one brother). Wu Chun comes from a wealthy family which owns Goh Hock Kee, the distributor of Mitsubishi in Brunei. He stands 5’10”, weighs 160 lbs., with type O blood and lists “actor, singer and model” as his profession.
A Business Administration major from RMIT University in Melbourne, Wu Chun speaks English, Malay (Bruneian) and three Chinese dialects (Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien). He drives a Blue Subaru Impreza Hatchback which he himself customized from the engine to the rims, including the exterior and the interior, with a license plate that bears his birthdate.
He has three tattoos, two around his upper right arm and one on his lower leg. He’s a big fan of Michael Jordan and he even flew to the US purposely to watch Jordan’s last game, with a courtside seat, after which he caught a glimpse of Jordan at his hotel.
“I love food,” he once said. “I love to eat.”
Wu Chun was a model in Singapore before he went to Taiwan where he was asked to play the main character in the Taiwanese drama Tokyo Juliet. Hello, stardom! He later joined the popular Taiwanese boyband Fahrenheit, the oldest of the four members who also include Wu Chun’s Romantic Princess co-star Calvin Chen. Prior to joining showbiz, he was a fitness instructor at his own gym, Fitness Zone, in Brunei.
Does Wu Chun really have three children as he was quoted in an interview, one of whom was shown with him in a picture posted on-line? It was a joke. The kid in the picture was his nephew and the “three children” were actually his Fahrenheit co-members whom he treats as “my children,” being younger than he is.
A sad note: Wu Chun lost his mother a few years ago. He’s often seen wearing a necklace with a ring on it; the ring is said to have been given to him by his mother on her deathbed.
Here are excerpts from yesterday’s Conversations with Wu Chun and Calvin Chen (also a member of the Fahrenheit band, along with two other guys) who are here to promote Romantic Princess (watch them today on the ABS-CBN noontime show ASAP 08 and on The Buzz):
What does your name mean in Chinese?
“I have to ask my father. (Laughs) Actually, my full name is Wu Chi Chun but they asked me to drop the ‘Chi’ when I joined showbiz. Chi means fortune and Chun means respect.”
You were born and grew up in Brunei, a very rich country. Did you live like a prince?
(Laughs some more) “No, no, no! Many people have a misunderstanding about Brunei. Yes, Brunei is a very rich country but it’s the King who is very rich. Our family belongs to the middle class. We are okay.”
What was your childhood ambition?
“Kids in Brunei all want to have a business and that was also what I wanted to have — a business of my own. They want to do something related to business. That’s why when I went to Melbourne, I took up Business Administration. After I graduated, I went back to Brunei and opened a health club. I really love challenging myself in the world of business.”
How was it growing up without your mom?
“Actually, I was about 24 when I lost my mom. She was the reason why I entered showbiz. When my mom passed away, I learned a very good lesson — not to be afraid of anything. That’s why I faced the challenge of entering showbiz, something I was very afraid to do before my mom died. I didn’t have confidence in myself. Now, I have self-confidence.”
What are your fond memories of your mom?
“My mom always took good care of me. She always reminded me to be a useful and good person.”
I’m sure she’s very happy that you have turned out to be a useful and good person.
“Yes. I’m sure she is.”
Are you wearing the ring that your mom has given to you?
“No, I’m not.”
Why? Where is it?
“I’m keeping it in a safe because I’m afraid of losing it.”
Having come from a privileged family....
...(Laughs)...”I don’t come from a privileged family...”
But your family is the distributor of Mitsubishi cars in Brunei, isn’t it?
“It’s my uncle who is the distributor. He’s quite rich. My family is more into another business, not really that rich.”
Oh, you’re very humble!
“No. That’s the truth. We are trying hard to make our business a success.”
If not money, what motivates you in your career?
“I think that everything I do now in showbiz is a good experience for me. Whether I succeed or not is not important to me. What’s important is the experience.”
With an uncle who distributes cars, you must be a car-lover.
“Yes, I am.”
Do you race?
“When I was in Melbourne, I did. I had a racing car.”
As a fitness buff, how do you take care of your body?
“Actually, the most important thing is that you must have the heart in whatever you do, including taking care of your health. Whatever you do, wherther working out, you have to put your 100 percent. You must be careful with what you eat. You must have focus; that’s very important.”
Aside from Michael Jordan, do you have any other role model?
“No. Only Michael Jordan. He’s the one who really influenced me. From the time I was a kid, he has influenced me a lot. I admire his attitude toward his game; he’s a good role model not only for me but for anybody.”
What’s your ideal girl?
“Somebody who is very simple, who is willing to share everything with me, somebody who is understanding, somebody who is happy to be with me and with whom I can be happy. Looks is not important. If you want to have a happy, lasting relationship, the feeling is more important than looks.”
Do you want to have a Filipina girlfriend? You still have time to look for one before you fly back to Taipei tomorrow.
“Let me see...Hahahahaha!”
Describe Calvin in three words.
“Very playboy. No, no, no, no, no! That’s a joke. He is clever, hard-working and responsible.”
Up close with Calvin Chen
Also a member of the Fahrenheit band, Calvin Chen’s Chinese name is Chen Yi Ru, born in Taiwan in Nov. 10, 1980 (Scorpion). He’s six-footer, weighs 143 lbs., with type A blood. He finished high school at Jianguo High School (one of the top schools in Taiwan) and college at the Simon Fraser University in Canada, and earned his M.A. in Economics at the University of Victoria.
While in Canada, Calvin competed in Sunshine Boyz, a pageant-like competiton, in Vancouver, emerging a winner. Among his prizes was a free ticket to Taiwan, a contract with a music company and a role in a drama. Currently enrolled at the National Chengchi University in Taipei, taking up Public Finance, Calvin speaks English and two Chinese dialects (Mandarin and Hokkien; he understands conversational Cantonese).
In Romantic Princess, he also plays one of the four successors to a big business empire.
Your Chinese name is Chen Yi Ru. What does it mean?
“Ru means scholar. My mom wants me to study hard. Yi means polite. My mom also wants me to be polite with people.”
How has your life been in Vancouver?
“Good. Very good! I went there when I was 18 and I lived by myself for seven years. I learned to be independent. It made my world wider and bigger.”
How many brothers and sisters do you have?
“I have one sister, two years older than I am. She’s getting married at the end of this year. I’m happy for her.”
What made you live in Vancouver by yourself?
“My dad wanted me to be independent. And I also wanted to be. For half a year, I stayed with my friends and then I lived by myself for more than six years. I was a student. I did everything by myself, including the laundry, cleaning the house, going to the grocery and doing the dishes — and paying all the bills.”
You took up Economics in college. Did you also want to put up your own business?
“If I did not become a model and an actor, I would have ended up in a financial institution, such as one dealing in stocks. Even now, I always read the business section when I get hold of a newspaper.”
You’ve been in Vancouver for seven years. Didn’t you experience any culture shock?
“Canada is a multi-cultural country. There are so many people from different countries — Japan, Korea, India, Philippines, etc....so many different races there. I’ve gotten to know so many people from different countries and I’ve learned how to respect their cultures and their traditions. I’ve learned how to adjust to any new culture and new environment.”
What are your hobbies?
(Joked Wu Chun, “Looking at the stocks. Hahahaha!”)
“Watching movies, going out with friends. Nothing much.”
How do you take care of your body?
“I don’t eat late. I learned from Chun what food is nutritious and what is junk food. He always tells me to eat and eat because he thinks I’m too skinny.”
(Wu Chun: “He was very skinny before. But now he’s okay. He also sometimes goes to the gym and that’s good.”)
Who’s your role model?
“My dad. He’s the vice president of a company. He takes good care of our family and that’s the most important thing. He gave me a good education, including sending me to Vancouver to be independent. He’s 58, getting old, and his heart is not so good so I worry about him. I can’t spend so much time with him. And when I do, I go out to dinner with him.”
What’s your ideal girl?
“Same with Chun’s — simple and a happy girl. The feeling is important. Somebody who can be a friend and a family to me. Somebody with the same values as I have and who can work together with me.”
Is nationality a factor?
“Not really. I had a Korean girlfriend before.”
(Wu Chun: “You want a Bruneian girlfriend? Hahahaha.”)

A sad note: Wu Chun lost his mother a few years ago. He’s often seen wearing a necklace with a ring on it; the ring is said to have been given to him by his mother on her deathbed.
Here are excerpts from yesterday’s Conversations with Wu Chun and Calvin Chen (also a member of the Fahrenheit band, along with two other guys) who are here to promote Romantic Princess (watch them today on the ABS-CBN noontime show ASAP 08 and on The Buzz):
What does your name mean in Chinese?
“I have to ask my father. (Laughs) Actually, my full name is Wu Chi Chun but they asked me to drop the ‘Chi’ when I joined showbiz. Chi means fortune and Chun means respect.”
You were born and grew up in Brunei, a very rich country. Did you live like a prince?
(Laughs some more) “No, no, no! Many people have a misunderstanding about Brunei. Yes, Brunei is a very rich country but it’s the King who is very rich. Our family belongs to the middle class. We are okay.”
What was your childhood ambition?
“Kids in Brunei all want to have a business and that was also what I wanted to have — a business of my own. They want to do something related to business. That’s why when I went to Melbourne, I took up Business Administration. After I graduated, I went back to Brunei and opened a health club. I really love challenging myself in the world of business.”
How was it growing up without your mom?
“Actually, I was about 24 when I lost my mom. She was the reason why I entered showbiz. When my mom passed away, I learned a very good lesson — not to be afraid of anything. That’s why I faced the challenge of entering showbiz, something I was very afraid to do before my mom died. I didn’t have confidence in myself. Now, I have self-confidence.”
What are your fond memories of your mom?
“My mom always took good care of me. She always reminded me to be a useful and good person.”
I’m sure she’s very happy that you have turned out to be a useful and good person.
“Yes. I’m sure she is.”
Are you wearing the ring that your mom has given to you?
“No, I’m not.”
Why? Where is it?
“I’m keeping it in a safe because I’m afraid of losing it.”
Having come from a privileged family....
...(Laughs)...”I don’t come from a privileged family...”
But your family is the distributor of Mitsubishi cars in Brunei, isn’t it?
“It’s my uncle who is the distributor. He’s quite rich. My family is more into another business, not really that rich.”
Oh, you’re very humble!
“No. That’s the truth. We are trying hard to make our business a success.”
If not money, what motivates you in your career?
“I think that everything I do now in showbiz is a good experience for me. Whether I succeed or not is not important to me. What’s important is the experience.”
With an uncle who distributes cars, you must be a car-lover.
“Yes, I am.”
Do you race?
“When I was in Melbourne, I did. I had a racing car.”
As a fitness buff, how do you take care of your body?
“Actually, the most important thing is that you must have the heart in whatever you do, including taking care of your health. Whatever you do, wherther working out, you have to put your 100 percent. You must be careful with what you eat. You must have focus; that’s very important.”
Aside from Michael Jordan, do you have any other role model?
“No. Only Michael Jordan. He’s the one who really influenced me. From the time I was a kid, he has influenced me a lot. I admire his attitude toward his game; he’s a good role model not only for me but for anybody.”
What’s your ideal girl?
“Somebody who is very simple, who is willing to share everything with me, somebody who is understanding, somebody who is happy to be with me and with whom I can be happy. Looks is not important. If you want to have a happy, lasting relationship, the feeling is more important than looks.”
Do you want to have a Filipina girlfriend? You still have time to look for one before you fly back to Taipei tomorrow.
“Let me see...Hahahahaha!”
Describe Calvin in three words.
“Very playboy. No, no, no, no, no! That’s a joke. He is clever, hard-working and responsible.”
Up close with Calvin Chen
Also a member of the Fahrenheit band, Calvin Chen’s Chinese name is Chen Yi Ru, born in Taiwan in Nov. 10, 1980 (Scorpion). He’s six-footer, weighs 143 lbs., with type A blood. He finished high school at Jianguo High School (one of the top schools in Taiwan) and college at the Simon Fraser University in Canada, and earned his M.A. in Economics at the University of Victoria.
While in Canada, Calvin competed in Sunshine Boyz, a pageant-like competiton, in Vancouver, emerging a winner. Among his prizes was a free ticket to Taiwan, a contract with a music company and a role in a drama. Currently enrolled at the National Chengchi University in Taipei, taking up Public Finance, Calvin speaks English and two Chinese dialects (Mandarin and Hokkien; he understands conversational Cantonese).
In Romantic Princess, he also plays one of the four successors to a big business empire.
Your Chinese name is Chen Yi Ru. What does it mean?
“Ru means scholar. My mom wants me to study hard. Yi means polite. My mom also wants me to be polite with people.”
How has your life been in Vancouver?
“Good. Very good! I went there when I was 18 and I lived by myself for seven years. I learned to be independent. It made my world wider and bigger.”
How many brothers and sisters do you have?
“I have one sister, two years older than I am. She’s getting married at the end of this year. I’m happy for her.”
What made you live in Vancouver by yourself?
“My dad wanted me to be independent. And I also wanted to be. For half a year, I stayed with my friends and then I lived by myself for more than six years. I was a student. I did everything by myself, including the laundry, cleaning the house, going to the grocery and doing the dishes — and paying all the bills.”
You took up Economics in college. Did you also want to put up your own business?
“If I did not become a model and an actor, I would have ended up in a financial institution, such as one dealing in stocks. Even now, I always read the business section when I get hold of a newspaper.”
You’ve been in Vancouver for seven years. Didn’t you experience any culture shock?
“Canada is a multi-cultural country. There are so many people from different countries — Japan, Korea, India, Philippines, etc....so many different races there. I’ve gotten to know so many people from different countries and I’ve learned how to respect their cultures and their traditions. I’ve learned how to adjust to any new culture and new environment.”
What are your hobbies?
(Joked Wu Chun, “Looking at the stocks. Hahahaha!”)
“Watching movies, going out with friends. Nothing much.”
How do you take care of your body?
“I don’t eat late. I learned from Chun what food is nutritious and what is junk food. He always tells me to eat and eat because he thinks I’m too skinny.”
(Wu Chun: “He was very skinny before. But now he’s okay. He also sometimes goes to the gym and that’s good.”)
Who’s your role model?
“My dad. He’s the vice president of a company. He takes good care of our family and that’s the most important thing. He gave me a good education, including sending me to Vancouver to be independent. He’s 58, getting old, and his heart is not so good so I worry about him. I can’t spend so much time with him. And when I do, I go out to dinner with him.”
What’s your ideal girl?
“Same with Chun’s — simple and a happy girl. The feeling is important. Somebody who can be a friend and a family to me. Somebody with the same values as I have and who can work together with me.”
Is nationality a factor?
“Not really. I had a Korean girlfriend before.”
(Wu Chun: “You want a Bruneian girlfriend? Hahahaha.”)
Do you want a Filipina girlfriend?
“Why not?”

damn them! go to hell! kaasar! selfish monkeys!
haaaay im soooo disappointed kase super unfair ng ABS-CBN towards chun, calvin, fahrenheit, hana kimi and romantic princess fans.. they're holding a fan meeting exclusively for their employees only.. indi ba kaasar un? and eto pa.. ung slots for the buzz and ent live, most of them were given to their employees din! indi ba kadupangan un! last week we were given 20 slots for each show.. super excited kame so mega prepare kmi ng handmade gifts at banner.. then last night, bglang nagtext si direk, 5 slots nlng daw.. so san napunta ung ibang slots? shempre dun sa mga dupang nilang empleyado! ang sarap isupalpal sa pagmumukha nila ung mga passes eh! badtrip! di nmn mga fans talaga! nakikiagaw pa! makarma sana sila! bumaba sana ratings ng mga shows nila! indi sila marunong magbigay halaga dun sa mga taong nagssupport talaga ng mga shows nila.. kaasar!!
